Affordable Modular Portable Computers
 Modport, the affordable modular portable computer from
Hi-Tec, is designed for mobility and flexibility. The unit
has a super rugged flame retardant ABS Plastic cover and
comes with a durable, built-in handle for easy transport.
The ModPort chassis is constructed of light weight and
ruggedized aluminum featuring eight expansion slots,
including five (5) full-length expansion slots and three
(3) half-length expansion slots.
Equipped with the newly-developed Card Stabilizer,
ModPort's expansion cards are held firmly in place and
fully resistant to the rigors of portable use. The Card
Stabilizer also lends additional strength to the chassis.
Hi-Tec's ModPort can be outfitted with one (1) 5.25"
drive bay and three (3) 3.50" drive bays and boasts
a standard PS-II power supply which is side-mounted for
easy power cord installation. The ModPort 8-Slot also
features a Video Memory Conversion Board which provides
the option to use a 2MB or 4MB standard VGA card with
full capability for employing MPEG technology.
Quality & Performance
Each ModPort computer is hand-built to
specifications by trained engineers. It must then pass a
series of operational and quality assurance tests before
it is considered ready for shipment. This careful
attention to quality offers reliability levels and MTBF
figures that are many times greater than conventional
laptop and notebook products. The results are greater
productivity and lower cost of ownership.
Hi-Tec's 8-Slot ModPort comes with a
handsome carrying bag that absorbs shock and vibrations
for extra protection. Details on a special cargo case are
available upon request. The back panel is CE-approved for
blocking harmful electromagnetiic frequencies. The unit
carries the FCC approval seal.
